A small delight!

After 16 months and 21 days, Courtney can walk! I knew eventually she would, but with her hearing impairment I was worried something else might be wrong. Even though I knew her brain was more focused on listening and processing sounds than developing her motor skills, I absolutely couldn't wait for her to walk! We are still holding out for teeth, but at least we know they are up there somewhere!

This is just the treat our family needed as we wait for the results on Monday to find out what is causing Courtney to have an ear infection since December 23rd! Dr. Syms took three cultures on Thursday and we are hoping it is nothing serious. We may have to consult with an infectious disease doctor depending on the results. So... we shall see!

First steps are always so exciting! Aiden's still not crawling at 10 months and lags in gross motor too. I think a lot of it has to do with hearing loss, but then again, my daughter never walked until she was 20 months and hears just fine! I hope Courtney's results come back ok on her ears! We'll be thinking of you all!

how fun and exciting for you to see that. i wished that i would have taped Ashlyns first steps... but nope im a horrible mother who doesnt think about that until she already has been walking like a pro! Im sure every new thing she does brings many smiles to your face.

Way to go Courtney!! Soon you will be running to keep up with your brothers.
Praying that everything turns out fine with your ears.

Hooray for Courtney! Noah didn't walk until he was 18 months. I think the two surgeries in a row really messed with his balance. Watch out...now she'll be into everything! :)
